Taking a trip to Kansas City, Missouri, is something that I always wanted to do. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that I would have the opportunity to travel to the area with my significant other for a fun-filled vacation full of excitement and new learning experiences. There were so many wonderful things to do in the area. In fact, I had so much fun that I am already looking forward to planning a trip to head back to the city in the next few months.
The first day we arrived at our hotel, we knew that we picked a good one. After doing some research, we decided to stay at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. It was such a beautiful hotel with an indoor swimming pool, dining area, spacious rooms, and the most comfortable beds. Once we settled in at the hotel, we decided to head out and get started on our day because it was still relatively early and there were still so many things that we would have a chance to do.
On the first day, we decided to take a tour around the city to see what it looked like and what it had to offer to tourists and residents alike. We got on the KC Sight-Seeing Tour that took us around the city to see some of the neat attractions, including the Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium, Kaleidoscope, and the LEGOLAND Discovery Center. We loved seeing some of the boutiques and different shops that were spread out throughout the city, too. Our favorite part about this tour was being able to sit on the top section of the double-decker bus because we had such a great view of everything, and the breeze felt lovely while we were sightseeing.
After taking the short tour, we decided to visit the SEA LIFE Kansas City Aquarium. The tickets were incredibly affordable at $19 per adult and there were dozens of different exhibits for us to look at while we were there. We got to see plenty of different creatures, including stingrays, sharks, tropical fish, and more. It was such a relaxing and educational experience that we will never forget. I managed to take some great photos of all the different marine animals in the aquarium.
During the second day of our visit, we got an early start and headed off to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The art museum was amazing. We spent hours looking at different exhibits and admiring the galleries of artwork all over the property. The art museum in Kansas City is home to thousands of pieces of artwork, so we did not run out of interesting things to look at or learn about during our trip. It was an unforgettable and relaxing experience that my partner and I truly enjoyed.
Hanging out in Kansas City was so much fun, but I did not get to see everything in one shot, which is why I have plans to go back soon. Some of the other attractions that I would like to check out the next time I am there would include the Kansas City Zoo, Boulevard Brewing Company, and the County Club Plaza where we can do some shopping!
